Arp188 is one of the many distorted objects from the Atlas of Peculiar galaxies. This one is also nick-named the tadpole galaxy for obvious reasons. Here imaged in LRGB using 20h of exposure.

An annual event, the Perseid meteor shower. This time an exceptional large meteor was captured with a long lasting glow. Captured with the new Sigma 15mm f/1.4 diagonal fisheye lens.

M27 is a very bright planetary nebula, of which often only the core is shown. In this case, the outer and much fainter areas are made visible as well in this HOO image, using a new HDR script.

NGC6910 is a small open star cluster right in the middle of a very rich area of emissio nebulae and dark nebulae, also known as the Sadr region in the constellation Cygnus. Here the star cluster is photographed in narrowband ad processed using the Hubble palette

M4 is a globular cluster in the constellation Scorpius. It is located at a distance of 50,000 light years from Earth. During processing some interesting green stars stood out which appear to be RR Lyrae variable stars, often found in clusters. The intense green colour is an artefact of the way broadband images like these are taken.

M102 is a small galaxy n the constellation Draco. It is an edge on galaxy with the characteristic dust lane through the middle. It is located at a distance of 50,000 light years from Earth.

Sh2-112 is a nice small, but decently bright emission nebula in the constellation of Cygnus. Here imaged in narrowband colour, using the Hubble palette (HSO). The small target is a great object for long focal length telescopes.

Arp84 is a beautiful, but very distorted system of two interacting galaxies, NGC5395 and NGC5394. It is one of 338 objects from the Atlas of Peculiar galaxies, produced by Halton Arp

Caldwell 45 is a small galaxy in the constellation Boötes, art of the Virgo supercluster of galaxies. It is also known as NGC5248. This was an older dataset when processed, and calibration is not perfect, as is visible in the uneven background. But details in the galaxy have been fairly well capture.

A beautiful double cluster of NGC884 and NGC869 in the constellation Perseus. These objects are pretty bright and were already discovered by the ancient Greeks. Here captured using an OSC camera.

NGC5905 and NGC5908 are two neighbouring galaxies in the constellation Draco. They form a very nice contrast with NGC5905 being a beautiful spiral galaxy (SAb), that is visible face-on, while NGC5908 is a barred spiral galaxy (SBb) and visible edge-on view.

M61 is a beautiful ‘heads on’ spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo, as part of the Virgo cluster. This particular image is shot in LRGB, but a comparison is made between LRGB and RGB processing as well.

M64 is also known as the Black Eye Galaxy, because of its characteristic detailed center in an otherwise a smooth and amorphous looking galaxy. Other nicknames are ‘evil eye’ and ‘sleeping beauty’ galaxy. This was an old set of data that had still not be processed.

M96 is a beautiful galaxy in the Messier catalogue. Here an RGB image recorded during ‘Galaxy Season’.

As a globular cluster from the Messier catalogue, M9 is a bit of a tricky target to image at the Northern Hemisphere. From my location it never rises above 34° altitude. Some short bursts of shots were collected over several nights to create this image.

Caldwell 6 is a beautiful planetary nebula in the northern skies, nicknamed Cat’s Eye Nebula. A particular challenge is to pull out enough detail from the super bright nucleus while still seeing the intricate details of the filaments in this emission nebula.

Globular Clusters are dense concentrations of stars within our own Milky Way galaxy. Messier 5 is a beautiful example of how dense such a cluster can be. Here an image photographed using only RGB broadband filters.

The Virgo cluster allows for some great galaxies to photograph. Here NGC4216 together with its neighbouring galaxies NGC4222 and NGC4206 in an RGB exposure. The second image from the remote observatory, with more han 20h of data collected over four nights.

For the first light image with the new rig from the Remote Observatory, M95 was chosen as the subject. One of the smaller galaxies that should benefit from the large focal length, dark skies and good seeing. Still some aspects to work out, but so far off to a good start.

M82 is often photographed together with its close neighbour M81. But the cigar galaxy as it is also called, is a beautiful example of a starburst galaxy and deserves the attention on its own.
