Sh2-230
Sh2-230 is an H II region in the constellation Auriga, approximately 6,800-9,800 light-years from Earth. The nebula spans 16–26 light-years in diameter. The large region known as Sh2-230, but within this region, there are many more, often better known objects, such as M36, M38, Sh2-229, Sh2-234 and Sh2-236 ad Sh2-237.
Sh2-200
Sh2-200 is a very dim planetary nebula in the constellation of Cassiopeia. By mistake it ended up in the Sharpless catalogue of HII emission regions, but recently its identity as a planetary nebula was confirmed. The nebula itself and especially the hydrogen regions around it are very dim, so require long exposure times
Sh2-86
Sh2-86 is a rather faint nebula in the constellation Vulpecula at a distance of approximately 6000 lightyear. Especially the OIII and SII signals are very faint. But during processing they could be retrieved well. Using the Hubble Palette, the final result is rather impressive with the big pillar structures in the nebula.
Sh2-105 | C27
The Crescent nebula, also known as Sh2-105 and C27, is an iconic deep sky object in the constellation Cygnus. In 2018 this object was imaged, so the current image gives a good idea of the progress that has been made over time.
M16 | Sh2-49
M16 is also known as the Eagle Nebula, but the central part of this nebula is made even more popular by the Hubble Telescope, and is nick-named the pillars of creation. Here in a narrowband version with a total of almost 40h of exposure.
Sh2-117 - Pelican Nebula
The Pelican Nebula (IC5070) is a direct neighbour of the North American Nebula (NGC7000). In this image both are photographed together, using a dual-band narrowband filter on an One-Shot-Colour camera, using a small travel rig.
Sh2-252 - Monkey Head Nebula
The Monkey Head Nebula is a very nice narrowband target for when the moon is out. Located in the constellation of Orion, this is a typical winter target. While clouds interfered a lot with the imaging, over several nights about 7h of exposure could be gathered for this image.
Sh2-174 - Valentine Rose
Sh2-174 is a very faint planetary nebula and also known as Valentine Rose. In total 12h of H-alpha and OIII data was collected to create this final image.
Sh2-220 - California Nebula
NGC1499 (California Nebula), an emission nebula located in the constellation Perseus is a very large and colourful target when photographed in narrow-band. Here an SHO image of long exposure to bring out some of the very faint blue OIII signal.
M1 | Sh2-244 - Crab Nebula
The Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Taurus. Imaged here in a Hubble Palette. This is the first image using BlurXTerminator for deconvolution, which is nothing short of a revolution in PixInsight image processing.
Sh2-236 - Tadpoles Nebula
The Tadpoles nebula is a very characteristic nebula in the constellation Auriga. This narrow-band image in Hubble palette clearly shows where this emission nebula gets its name from.
Sh2-248 - Jellyfish Nebula
The beautiful Jellyfish nebula (IC443) in the constellation Gemini. Here in a wide-field shot together with reflection nebula IC444. The narrow-band images are processed in the SHO Hubble palette.
Sh2-240 - Spaghetti Nebula
Sh2-240, also known as the Spaghetti Nebula is a very large and faint object that requires long exposures with a wide-field telescope. A reducer on the FSQ-106 in combination with full-frame camera and > 17h of exposure resulted in the following image.
Sh2-155 Cave Nebula
An old 2019 dataset of Sh2-155, also known as Cave Nebula, was finally processed to this image in SHO Hubble palette. The nebula itself is only a small object in a much larger region of all sorts of emission, reflection and dark nebulosity.
Sh2-190 - Heart and Soul Nebulae
A new reducer for the FSQ-106 turned the scope into a 380mm at f/3,6 astrograph. Together with the ASI6200MM a perfect combination to photograph the beautiful Heart and Soul Nebulae in narrowband.
Sh2-129 - Flying Bat and Squid Nebula
Recently (2011) the Flying Squid Nebula has been discovered right within the Flying Bat Nebula (Sh2-129). The very weak OIII object is hard to image and with almost 30h of total exposure this has been one of the most challenging objects so far.
