Dovetail Clamp and Powerbox in one device

Pegasus Astro has announced a new product, the Saddle Powerbox. It is a dovetail clamp that supports both Vixen and Losmandy style mounting plates. It is also a powerbox with all the functionality of the Powerbox Advance. The Saddle Powerbox is designed for the Pegasus Astro NYX 101 strain wave mount, but adapters are available for the ZWO AM5, Rainbow Astro RST-135(E) and Skywatcher NEQ6 and EQ6-R mounts as well.

The Powerbox has two USB-3 and two USB-2 ports, four 12V DC outputs and two outputs for dew heaters. It is powered through a regular 12V DC power source and can deliver a combined total of 10A over the various outputs. A sensor for ambient temperature and relative humidity is embedded. It will be supported by Ascom and INDI drivers.

The very popular strain wave mounts are often used in environments where size, weight and portability are important. The Saddle Powerbox can be an interesting option for cable management on such systems without the need to add an additional box somewhere on the rig.
