New Takahashi Ortho Extenders 2x/4x

Takahashi has introduced two new Extenders: the Ortho Extender 2x and Ortho Extender 4x. These are made to enlarge the focal image without introducing aberrations. When used with a well-corrected telescope, they deliver the best 2× or 4× magnified images without extra distortion. They are ideal for imaging the moon, sun, and planets and can replace standard Barlow lenses.

Ortho Extenders work with most Takahashi telescopes, each having dedicated system charts. Image/view circles typically range from 20-30mm, depending on the telescope. They feature a male M43 connection on the telescope side and a male M42 connection on the camera/eyepiece side, allowing for easy integration into existing imaging setups. Each extender includes extension rings to assist in this process.

Takahashi has released an introduction video on YouTube. Prices for the 2x and 4x sets are €214 and €342 respectively.
